About This Winchester 9mm Luger Ammunition
We are the Ammo Man – but we can tell just by looking at you that you are an Ammo Man, too. That means you’re bound to appreciate Winchester’s American-made and brand-new-outta-da-factory 9mm NATO ammunition!“What in the Sam Q. Hill is 9mm NATO ammo?” you ask? That’s easy. This cartridge is loaded with a normal (i.e. steel-free) 124 grain non-expanding full metal jacket projectile. Its case is brand new brass. Its primer is noncorrosive Boxer. The only thing that differentiates it from a standard 9mm load is its higher max chamber pressure: 36,500 psi, as opposed to SAAMI standard which is 35,000 psi.
“What is the point of 9mm NATO ammo?” Well, it’s not quite as peppery as 9mm +P (max chamber pressure: 38,500 psi), but it does send its bullet across a flatter trajectory than a standard round can manage. It also recoils a little stronger than standard pressure ammo – but not quite as vigorously as 9mm +P. As you may already have surmised, 9mm NATO is an excellent “Goldilocks” if you want something that falls between standard pressure and overpressure.
