Copper is valuable. Sterling makes this ammo more affordable by loading it with decidedly less valuable steel components. Rather than brass, this ammo’s cases are steel. They are loaded with noncorrosive Boxer primers, but that does nothing to change the fact that steel cases aren’t reloadable (unless you have extremely specialized tools and too much free time).
Instead of traditional copper, this ammo’s full metal jacket bullets are jacketed in steel. The FMJs’ jackets are significantly softer than the steel gun barrels are made of. They won’t damage your bore, but they do preclude this ammo from use at ranges that prohibit “magnetic” bullets on their premises.
